I LOVE the way these resin coasters turned out! It was such an easy DIY project.
I had seen a couple of DIY resin coasters on Pinterest and I decided I wanted to give it a try.

What I needed to figure out was what I was going to put into the resin molds. I went to Joann’s and I came across crushed shells in a beautiful aqua green color. They had a couple of other colors to choose from too, but the aqua green matches my living room perfectly.
These are the supplies I used for the resin coasters:
- Silicone Disc Molds
- Epoxy Resin
- Aqua green crushed shells (bought from Joann’s)
- 2 large paper cups
- Plastic spoon
I bought the silicone disc molds and the epoxy resin from Amazon. They both worked great.
The epoxy resin comes in two bottles. You need to mix equal parts of both bottles together and stir 3-5 minutes (once there are no streaks).

Once that was done I added the crushed shells. I just eyeballed it making sure there weren’t so many shells that they would come out of the resin.

Next I added the resin mixture to my silicone molds.

You can see in the above picture that there are quite a few bubbles. That’s ok, I waited 5 minutes and most of them were gone. The instructions say if the bubbles don’t go away you can use a heat gun to remove them, which is what I did.

The heat gun made quite a difference! Now the final and most difficult step…you have to wait for 24 hours!! It was painful, but so worth it.

Try them for yourself! I hope you love them as much as I do. 🙂
