It’s no secret that I love the dollar store. There is so much you can buy there to save money!!
I took a little trip to the dollar store today to show you some of the things you can buy there at a fraction of the cost. As much as I love Target, I love saving money more.
My favorite dollar store is Dollar Tree. That’s where I went today.
Here are some of the treasures I found:
Anyone with little girls knows you can go through a lot of ponytail holders! They can run from $3.50-$5.00 at other stores. Save money and buy them from the dollar store.
Flashlights…you never know when you are going to need one. They really come in handy when bad weather is expected. Plus, most people don’t go to the dollar store for emergency supplies.
With three girls in our house I feel like I’m always buying hangers. You can get a pack of 7 for only $1.
Your dental needs are also covered at the dollar store. I go through multiple floss picks a day. Paying $1 for them is much better than paying $3-$5. They also have name band toothpaste.
This is a 2 for 1 photo. The first is the glue sticks. It might not save you a ton of money, but it’s good to know they have them. The money saver in this picture is the thumb tacks. I just bought some for my daughter from Lowe’s and they were way more expensive.
Picture frames for $1 is way less than you’ll pay at other stores. Also, they have a huge variety.
The dollar store also has candles. They have a lot of different scents!
Baking soda is only $.59. If you make a lot of bath bombs this is especially good news to you.
These tins are quite expensive at the grocery store. Only $1 at Dollar Tree! Whenever I take food to a party I put it in one of these tins. That way I don’t have to worry about getting my dish back.
You can get all kinds of dinnerware from the dollar store…and it’s actually cute!
You can also get wine glasses, beer mugs and regular glasses.
I don’t know about you, but I go through a lot of plastic containers. Not only do they have them, but they’re Betty Crocker.
Do you need dish towels, oven mitts or pot holders? Head on over to the dollar store!
Everyone needs a good scrubby brush for their kitchen. They have a good variety to pick from!
Toilet brushes and toilet plungers. Not something you really want to think about…but it’s something that everyone needs.
They even have brooms for $1!
Not only do they have dish soap, but they actually have a brand name.
If you want your house to smell good they have plenty of air fresheners.
Tools!! These are perfect for a first time homeowner that wants to get a toolbox started.
Pens, pencils, highlighters….they have ’em!
Don’t waste your money on posterboard…get it for $.69.
Whether you need a vase for flowers or you need them for a craft project, you can get them for $1 each.
Most kids love coloring books. These make a great gift or stocking stuffer.
Gift bags can cost $5 and up. Not only do they have them for $1, but they have a good selection and they’re cute.
They also have a great selection of ribbons and wrapping paper.
If you’re planning a kids birthday party you should check out the dollar store. They have a whole section of kids paper plates and cups.
You can also find plastic utensils for only $1.
Cards can be so expensive!! I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to spend $5-$10 on a card. $1 works for me.
Whatever holiday is coming up next you can count on the dollar store to have some decorations. Today they had stuff for Easter and St. Patrick’s Day.
Head to your local dollar store and see what they have! You never know what you will find.
