Sugar scrub is a great way to exfoliate skin….and it’s fun to make!
Besides being fun to make, it is easy and inexpensive. So why not try it? I will walk you through it step by step.
To make this Peppermint Sugar Scrub you will need:
- 3 cups of sugar
- 1 1/2 cups of coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
- red food coloring (optional)
- A container to store it in
The containers I used I bought from the dollar store. I think they are so cute!!
If you have never used coconut oil you may be surprised that it is more of a solid than a liquid. To make it easier to work with I put it in the microwave for one minute at 50% power.
To start making the sugar scrub I added the sugar to a large mixing bowl.
Next I added the coconut oil and peppermint extract.
Then I mixed up the ingredients until they were all combined.
Since this is a peppermint scrub I wanted to make it red and white. I put half of the mixture in a second bowl, then added red food coloring. Just a few drops goes a long way.
With the sugar scrub made it was time to layer it in my containers. I added a couple spoonfuls of white, then patted it down, then did the same with the red.
I rotated the colors until the jar was full. That’s it! This Peppermint Sugar Scrub also makes a great gift.
