DIY Bath Bombs

Sharing is caring!

My daughter is pretty much obsessed with bath bombs, so I figured it would be fun if we made our own.

She was going to a birthday party for one of her friends and wanted to make something for her. These bath bombs were perfect!

The first thing we needed to do was purchase some bath bomb molds. We ended up buying this bath bomb mold set. We chose this one because it came with the bath bomb molds, dye and little bags to put the bath bombs in.

Next up we needed to make sure we had all of the ingredients:

  • Baking soda – 1/2 cup
  • Cornstarch – 1/4 cup
  • Epsom salt – 1/4 cup
  • Citric acid – 1/4 cup
  • Almond oil – 3 tsp.
  • Water – 1-2 tsp.
  • Essential oil – 1 tsp.
  • Bath bomb dye (optional)

We also used a mixing bowl, whisk and latex gloves.

The first step was to add all of the dry ingredients in the mixing bowl. We used the whisk to mix it all together.

Next we slowly added the wet ingredients. Don’t go too fast or you’ll lose all the fizz.

At this point you want to add the dye if you are using it. The mixture should be damp enough to stick together. You don’t want it too wet.

Add the mixture to the bath bomb mold and close it. Let it sit for 5 minutes, then carefully remove bath bombs from the molds.

Let the bath bombs dry for 24 hours.

The bath bombs turned out super cute and they were fun to make. We made them two days in a row! They’re a little bit messy, but it’s totally worth it.
